Porsche brings the Cayenne Electric to India on 30 September, the first battery-electric version of its best-selling SUV and one of the most powerful cars the brand has put on sale here.
Two versions at launch
The standard car makes 442hp and 835Nm and gets from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds. The Cayenne Electric Turbo is in another league entirely: 1,156hp and 1,500Nm, and a claimed 0-100kph time of 2.5 seconds. Both use a 113kWh battery with dual-motor all-wheel drive.
Pricing
Expect around ₹1.77 crore (ex-showroom) for the standard car and roughly ₹2.27 crore for the Turbo, which puts the Turbo above most of what Porsche sells in India outside the 911 range.
Design and cabin
The EV drops the combustion car’s open grille for a closed-off nose and a full-width LED light bar, while inside there is a sweeping 14.5-inch curved touchscreen and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display. The Cayenne Electric will be sold alongside the petrol Cayenne rather than replacing it.
Deliveries and a full India specification sheet are expected to follow the 30 September debut.
