Mr Nitin Gadkari is a celebrated figure in Indian politics because of his grand vision for our country. He has been consistently pushing to put our country on the global map when it comes to road and highway infrastructure. However, there have been a lot of hurdles in the way and many of his visionary ideas have not met the fate that he had visioned for. Sadly, the same has happened this time again and it involves the Tesla Model Y price. Let’s understand the whole scenario.
Tesla Model Y Price – Nitin Gadkari’s Failed Promise

Tesla opened its first showroom in India along with the launch of its first model, the Model Y. If you have not checked the pricing, the Tesla Model Y price ranges from Rs 61 lakh to Rs 69 lakh (on-road, Mumbai); if you pick the standard Stealth Grey model with black interiors and no add-ons.

However, back in 2021, during India Today Conclave, Mr Nitin Gadkari had said that Tesla cars will cost around Rs 35 lakh when launched in India. Now that Tesla Model Y has launched, the actual price is almost double the price mentioned by Mr Gadkari. What will come as a bigger shock is that if you were to register the Model Y for Gurugram, the on-road price of the Long Range RWD Model Y will cross Rs 75 lakh! This is serious luxury car territory.
Tesla Model Y Price – Is That All?

No! That is not all! If you wish to pick between the exterior colour options, or the interior colour theme, you will have to shell out a minimum of Rs 95,000, based on the options you pick. And we are not done yet. In case you decide to opt for the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package, it will cost you Rs 6 lakh. However, sources tell us that FSD for India is not in the pipeline for now and we believe the option might be made unavailable in the near future.
