Tesla has finally arrived in India after years of anticipation and overcoming various hurdles. Many people had spotted the Tesla Model Y testing on Indian roads, with the frequency of these sightings increasing recently. Now, fresh spy shots have emerged, suggesting Tesla is ready for its India debut.
Tesla Model Y – New Spy Shots

Tesla recently confirmed that the brand will be opening its first showroom in India in Mumbai’s BKC on July 15th. People are eagerly awaiting this moment, and we now have fresh spy shots of the display car arriving at the planned showroom location.

The first image shows a covered car parked on a flatbed. The second image confirms that it is indeed the Tesla Model Y. This display car features the Stealth Grey paint scheme and stylish 5-spoke blacked-out alloy wheels. We cannot currently confirm whether these are 19-inch or 20-inch wheels. A quick look also reveals white leather seats with black contrasting elements on the back.
Tesla Model Y – What Else?

The India-spec Model Y is expected to be feature-loaded, similar to international-spec models. Electrically-folding rear seats, an electronic tailgate, a huge panoramic glass roof, and a premium sound system are anticipated to be part of the package. The second row also features an 8.0-inch touchscreen through which occupants can control the climate and even play games. We also expect to see some ADAS features on the Model Y. However, fully autonomous driving features are likely to be unavailable in India, at least for the time being.

As for technical specifications, Tesla might initially launch the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) variant in India to keep prices competitive. Regarding the battery pack, we expect it to be a 60kWh unit that can deliver a claimed range of around 460kms. Additionally, the Tesla Model Y offers a massive 822-litre boot space.
