Not Features! Buyers Want This In Their New Car!

Car buyers, in recent years, have focused a lot on features; so much so that manufacturers have started loading their cars with as many features as possible. However, the focus has started to shift. Buyers who once prioritised features like sunroof over anything are now focusing on bringing safe cars home. They are now looking at fundamental necessities than gimmicky features. Let’s discuss safe cars in detail.

Safe Cars – Increasing Sales

5-star rated cars in the country have been gaining popularity. Data suggests that out of the total cars sold in the first four months of 2025 (15.21 lakh), 15% were 5-star Bharat NCAP rated (2.28 lakh). This goes on to show how people are prioritising safety over anything now.

This shift in focus has also pushed manufacturers to offer their cars with top-notch safety package. Maruti, which was once hesitant to offer 6 airbags in its affordable cars citing price increase, now offers 6 airbags even in its cheapest vehicle, the Alto K10.

More and more cars are being launched with ADAS, a feature which was reserved for luxury cars, until not many years ago. Buyers these days want holistic safety – a car which can prevent accidents thanks to modern technology and comes with a solid safety rating.
