Maruti’s Tin Can Now Gets Tata Like Safety!

Share

Tata has been the trend-setter when it comes to making safe cars. Starting from SUVs to hatchbacks, Tata’s entire lineup of cars has scored either 4-star or 5-star safety ratings. Contrary to Tata, Maruti had always been bashed for its poor safety ratings, with many of its cars even scoring as low as 1-stars. However, this seems to be changing. One particular Maruti which was called out for its weak panels has now scored an impressive rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. Not just this, there’s another Maruti which has scored full 5-stars. Let’s take a look at these safe Maruti cars.

Safe Maruti Cars – Baleno

SAFE MARUTI CARS BALENO 6 AIRBAGS

The Maruti Baleno has taken everyone by surprise by scoring 4-stars (Adult) in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The premium hatchback, which was once mocked for its fragile panels managed to score 26.52 out of 32 points under Adult Occupant Protection and 34.81 out of 49 points under Child Occupant Protection. For child occupant safety, the Baleno has been awarded 3-stars. One important thing to note here is that these scores are for the 6 airbags variant.

For the variant with dual airbags, the Baleno has managed to score 24.04 out of 32 points under Adult Occupant Protection. The Child Occupant Protection points were the same as the 6 airbag variant (34.81 out of 49 points). For child occupant safety, the Baleno has been awarded 3-stars for the dual airbag variant too.

Safe Maruti Cars – Dzire

Apart from the Baleno, Bharat NCAP has also crash tested the Maruti Dzire. The Dzire has successfully scored full 5-stars for adult as well as child occupant safety. The Dzire managed to score 29.46 out of 32 points under Adult Occupant Protection and 41.57 out of 49 points under Child Occupant Protection.

However, this is not the first time the Maruti Dzire has received a full 5-star safety rating. In November 2024, the Dzire made headlines by scoring a 5-star rating for adult occupant safety and 4-star rating for child occupant safety.
