Truck makers make trucks, right? Indeed, they do. A few of them even make, or have in the past made, cars. However, there’s one truck maker who produces your favourite motorcycles, and we Indians are crazy for them. We are talking about Eicher Motors. For those unaware, Eicher Motors owns Royal Enfield. And yes, Royal Enfield is making India’s most powerful production motorcycle. Let’s learn more about this new Royal Enfield.

New Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric

NEW ROYAL ENFIELD HIMALAYAN ELECTRIC DETAILS

Visuals of the Royal Enfield Himalayan electric being tested in the tough terrains of Ladakh surfaced a few weeks ago, followed by a period of silence. However, new, exciting media reports have emerged. We have learned that the new Royal Enfield Himalayan electric will most likely boast a 14kWh battery pack. With a battery pack of this size, a range of around 250km can be expected.

What’s even more interesting is that the bike makes almost 100bhp. For context, the Triumph Tiger 900 GT makes slightly more at 106.5bhp but costs Rs 17.52 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). That being said, it’s important to keep in mind that this power output is from the tested bike, and Royal Enfield might tweak the output for the production model.

An interesting detail to note is that Royal Enfield has a stake in Stark Future, a Spanish electric dirt bike manufacturer. This is the same company that has developed the electric Himalayan’s motor.

NEW ROYAL ENFIELD HIMALAYAN ELECTRIC

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan electric could come with four riding modes: Zen, Off-Road, Tour, and Rally. “Zen” is essentially a City mode, which will allow the rider to tame this powerful electric machine in urban conditions.

As far as the launch is concerned, the exact timeline remains unknown, as Royal Enfield is currently using the Himalayan electric as a testbed for future electric models. However, in a few years, the Himalayan electric will most likely be ready for production but keep in mind, it will definitely carry a hefty price tag.
