Toughest Maruti Fronx Rival Coming To India!

Share

The Fronx is one of the top-selling Marutis in our country today. The SUV-inspired style and the availability of some top features like a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Heads-Up Display (HUD), wireless charging & a 360-degree camera make the Maruti Fronx a natural choice for many. However, the Fronx should start worrying soon! A particular car is coming to India which could prove to be the toughest rival the Maruti SUV has ever faced. Let’s know more about this Maruti Fronx rival.

Maruti Fronx Rival – Who Is It?

Hyundai Bayon Exterior

The Maruti Fronx rival that we are talking about is the Hyundai Bayon. Recent media reports have suggested that Hyundai is planning to bring the Bayon to our country. The Bayon is a crossover SUV and will directly rival the Maruti Fronx.

Hyundai Bayon Interior

The Hyundai Bayon comes loaded with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, premium BOSE sound system, wireless charging and ADAS features like Lane Following Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, etc. We expect Hyundai to keep most of these features on the India-spec Bayon.

Hyundai Bayon Length

One thing to note here is that the Bayon sold in global markets is 4180mm long. For India, Hyundai will have to bring the overall length to under 4 metres to respect the sub-4m tax slab and ultimately keep the prices in check. This could thus affect the 411-litres of boot space available in the Bayon. We will have to wait and see what will be compromised to make the Bayon a sub-4m car.

Hyundai Bayon – New Engine

Hyundai Bayon Hybrid

Hyundai is aiming to bring hybrid technology to India. For the same purpose, the South Korean manufacturer is said to be developing a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which could be paired with either a DCT or an e-CVT gearbox. This unit is said to be made available on the new-generation Creta and new-generation Venue, however, Bayon could be the first car to sport this new engine.
