To push more & more people towards the electric bandwagon, carmakers are consistently bringing out new EVs – and they are specifically electrifying popular models to hit a chord with a larger audience. In similar fashion, Tata is now set to launch the Harrier EV on June 3. Interestingly, Tata has today revealed new, exciting details about the Harrier EV through an ‘Elephant Rock Challenge’ video. Let’s take a look at Tata Harrier EV features.
Tata Harrier EV Features

We already know that the Harrier EV will come loaded with All-Wheel-Drive. To prove its actual capability, Tata took the Harrier EV to Kerala to climb the insanely steep Elephant Rock, which the electric SUV conquered with ease. Through the challenge, Tata revealed a lot of new features which came in handy for the Harrier EV to pass this challenge.
As showcased in the video, the Harrier EV will come loaded with useful off-road features like Transparent Mode, Rock Crawl Mode, Off Road Assist and Boost Mode. Transparent Mode showcases the underbelly perspective of the Harrier to easily tackle rocky surface. Is Harrier EV using an underbelly camera for this? Only time will tell.
In the Rock Crawl Mode, the Harrier EV is most likely to manage traction control on all wheels to tackle slip & locking while conquering large boulders and rocks. In Off Road Assist, a crawl speed of 5kmph will be set in order for the driver to focus on off-roading, rather than worrying about accelerator inputs. Lastly, Boost Mode is likely to offer a surge of power to surpass tricky situations like steep inclines.
Pricing & Range

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Tata Harrier EV is expected to be priced between Rs 25 lakh & Rs 35 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
Talking about the range, up until today, everyone expected the Harrier EV to offer a range of 500km for the dual-motor AWD setup. But as seen in one shot of the ‘Elephant Rock Challenge’ video, the instrument cluster shows 560km range at 90% battery level which translates to a real-world range of 600+kms when fully charged! Exciting, isn’t it?
Just so you know, we are also expecting a single-motor option which might offer even bigger range figures!
Tata Harrier EV Features – Other Interesting Details

With the dual-motor setup, the Harrier EV will be capable of producing around 500Nm of torque. For comparison, the ICE Harrier makes 350Nm of torque. Now that’s a big torque boost! Also, the Harrier EV will flaunt a ‘SUMMON’ mode which will allow the user to move the EV forward & backward with the help of the key. Cool, isn’t it?
Talking about the design, the Tata Harrier EV will look very similar to the regular ICE Harrier, with the usual EV-specific bits like a closed-off front grille and new alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Apart from these, it will get new front & rear bumpers as well.
The Tata Harrier EV will come loaded with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, 10-speaker JBL sound system, etc.
On the safety front, it will come with 7 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, 360-degree camera, ADAS, etc.
